Our Occupational Therapists support participants to build independence, increase participation and improve quality of life across the practical areas of everyday living.
This includes supporting people with daily living skills, sensory needs, assistive technology, environmental modifications and the development of routines that promote wellbeing and independence.
Many challenges experienced by people with disability are influenced by the interaction between the individual, their environment and the demands placed upon them. Difficulties with sensory processing, executive functioning, communication, physical access, fatigue or daily living skills can contribute significantly to distress, reduced participation and behaviours of concern. Occupational Therapy aims to identify and address these barriers to support meaningful engagement in everyday life.
Our approach is person-centred and strengths-based, focusing on helping participants develop skills, access the right supports and environments, and make informed choices about the way they live. We work collaboratively with participants, families, support teams and other professionals to create practical and sustainable outcomes that align with each person’s goals.
